Reading from home-like environment – better?

Reading is one of those intellectual activities, that can be done just anywhere: in your flat, at your home, in your work environment, in the library premises, in the local bookstore with designated space for reading, outside somewhere in the park, inside the shop mall, just anywhere where there is a space with light – when we want to take a printed book as an example – or when there is a space with wi-fi and electrical socket – when we want to take an online e-book as an example. When everything goes well with our reading, our weekly reading schedule may look like this:

Monday
7:00 am – 9:00 am
Tuesday
7:00 am – 9:00 am
Wednesday
7:00 am – 9:00 am
Thursday
7:00 am – 9:00 am
Friday
7:00 am – 9:00 am
Saturday
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Sunday
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Have I mentioned, that the above schedule is for savvy active readers who have something to write about on the subject matter? Well, then take it as a note to remember and continue reading.

So, as your reading schedule will differ from mine, and it will definitely differ from your co-worker’s, and it definitely will differ significantly from Primary School reader, Secondary School reader or/and College reader, University reader, you may want to pay attention to your daily routine first to make one for yourself.

According to experts on healthy active daily body routine, including sleep patterns and hygiene of sleep, as well as in line with expertise from contemporary dietitians on daily healthy eating, and finally with a good insight provided by developmental psychologists researching healthy development and learning by reading, you can build your very own weekly reading schedule with healthy habits to follow. Your personal reading habits will become your very own reading style and a way to not only learn, but also to spend time in a meaningful way. Reading more about the subject matter may even inspire you to expand not only your reading horizons, but also it will expand your knowledge on the chosen topic, that you will be able to use competently at school, at work, at university, at home during remote work that requires extensive expert outsourcing.

Reading, books and most of all newspapers, that brings in not only new titles to your focus, but inform you about the current affairs is necessary for sustaining a well-balanced point of view. This is what is often overlooked when landing in new content. Talking about reading for fun may often mislead the way we treat reading in general. As there are different types of content to read, and there are different types of books and newspapers for you to take it as your own. And why not, we do it all the time. We say often to a colleague or to someone next to us at university library:

  • “Hey, have you read this article on this new online platform I sent you yesterday? I really enjoyed it and I learnt a few new things about my new course study topic too.”
  • “Hi, yes, it was good. I read it because I saw a nice picture of it and thought it will look good in my social media. I am into this thing, but not this year. I have so much to do till the end of the semester. Thanks anyway!”

There is a lot of books to talk about, but then what do we really need to read at this very moment?
